Most metronomes assume you're by yourself practicing. Giganome knows you need to keep the band from going 120 to 250 in the chorus.

Alone

A complete metronome on each device.

Neither app needs the other. Set the tempo with the Digital Crown on the Watch or the slider on the phone, or tap the number and type it exactly. Count yourself in, feel the downbeat, and let it stop itself when you are done.

  • 30 to 240 BPM, with exact entry when you already know the number
  • 11 time signatures, including 5/4, 7/8, 9/8 and 12/8, each accented where the bar actually leans
  • Subdivisions up to four per beat, with the ceiling lowered so fast divisions stay clean
  • Haptics, synthesised audio, or both, plus a visual beat you can read across a room

Playing together

The hard part is not the click. It is agreeing on it.

A band that shares a tempo shares it exactly, or it is worse than not sharing it at all. Giganome treats that as a timing problem rather than a messaging one.

Start a beat from your watch and watch your phone join the jam. Choose a song from a setlist you saved on your phone, and feel the beat on your wrist.

  • Start, stop, tempo, and meter all carry in both directions
  • A Watch never joins a band in its own right: it follows its own phone, and the phone is the band member
  • Starting or joining an ordinary session brings your other device along too

Your songs

The setlist already knows the tempo.

Save each tune with the title, artist, tempo, meter, and division it needs. Tap the row to set the metronome up without starting it, so you can line up the next song while the last one is still ringing, or tap play to set it and go. In a session either one takes the whole band, and anybody can do it.

Your bandmates

Share a song or entire setlist.

  • Anything already present with different settings is resolved song by song — replace, keep mine, or keep both — or all at once
  • Replacing updates a song in place, so sets that reference it keep working
  • A set travels with all of its songs
  • The file is JSON containing only what was typed: titles, artists, and rhythmic settings

Privacy

No data collection.

Giganome has no account, no login, and no analytics. It collects no data about you.

Band sessions

Your band only shares the music — tempo, meter, and beat. Nothing personal ever leaves the room.

Your setlist

Your songs and setlists stay on your phone. You decide if and when to share them.

Dictation

Adding a song by voice stays on your phone. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Playing with others

The first time you start or join a band, your phone will ask to connect nearby. Say no, and playing solo still works fine.

Questions

Before you download it.

Does Giganome need an internet connection?

No. Playing alone never touches the network. A band session is a direct connection between devices in the same room, and your own iPhone and Apple Watch use the paired-device link, which needs no Wi‑Fi at all.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account and no login. Nothing is stored anywhere except on your own devices.

Does it run on iPad?

Yes. The iPad gets its own layout: your setlist in a sidebar beside a metronome sized to read from a music stand, and a compact console for when you put Giganome in a floating window next to sheet music. It joins band sessions like any other device. What it cannot do is tap - an iPad has no Taptic Engine - so the click is audio there, and an iPad cannot pair an Apple Watch.

Can an Apple Watch join a band by itself?

No, and that is deliberate. A Watch follows its own iPhone, and the iPhone is the band member. It means the Watch on your wrist and the phone in your pocket are never in disagreement about the beat.

Does the click keep going when my phone locks?

The audio does. The haptic taps do not — iOS stops haptics for a locked phone and no app can change that decision made by Apple. Musicians who carry the phone in a pocket generally run it with in-ear monitors for this reason.

How do I share a song with someone?

Swipe a song or a set and tap Share to send it by AirDrop or Messages. To send several at once, tap Add and choose “Send Songs…”. The recipient reviews everything before any of it is saved.
