Most of what people ask about is one of the four things below. If none of them covers it, write to support@giganome.com and say which devices you were using and what happened.
Starting a band session
One musician chooses Start session, names the band, and reads out the six digits. Everyone else chooses Join session and types them in. Allow the local network prompt on every device; a session cannot find anything without it.
Any device can start or join, so it does not matter whose phone begins it, and anyone in the session can change the tempo, meter, or division for everybody.
If a device sits on “Connecting”, the screen will say why. That wording is the single most useful thing to include if you write in about it.
Your own iPhone and Apple Watch
Choose Sync My Devices on either device, and the other opens its own screen and joins within a few seconds. This uses the paired-device link, so it works with Wi‑Fi switched off entirely.
Giganome has to be open on the other device. No app can launch itself on your Watch, so if it is closed, open it and it will join.
The Watch returns to the clock mid-song
That is a watchOS setting rather than something the app can override. On the Watch, open Settings, then General, then Return to Clock, find Giganome, and choose Return to App.
The taps stop when the iPhone locks
Expected. iOS stops haptics for a locked phone and no app can change it. The audio click keeps sounding, which is why musicians who carry the phone in a pocket run it with in-ear monitors. The screen will not auto-lock on its own while the metronome is playing.
Songs and sets
Tap a song’s row to set the metronome up without starting it, so you can line up the next tune while the last one is still ringing, or tap the play button to set it and go. In a session either one takes the whole band.
To send songs, swipe a song or a set and tap Share, or tap Add and choose Send Songs… for several at once. A set travels with all of its songs.
When something arrives that you already have with different settings, you are asked what to do with each one — Replace, Keep Mine, or Keep Both — or you can answer all of them at once. Nothing is saved until you tap Add, and the safe answer is already selected. Deleting a set never deletes its songs.
Dictating a song
The phone asks for a title, tempo, meter, and division one at a time, reads the result back, and saves it when you say so. It runs entirely on the device, so it works with no signal. If your phone or language cannot do on-device recognition, the app says so and offers typing; typing is available alongside it either way.
What you need
- iPhone — iOS 17 or newer
- Apple Watch — watchOS 10 or newer
- The Watch app installs with the iPhone app; there is nothing separate to download.
- 30–240 BPM. Faster subdivisions lower the ceiling: 200 BPM at three per beat, 150 at four.
